The Alibaba Zhejiang Cloud Computing Data Center (Linping New Town) has recently passed official final acceptance. The upcoming operation of the project will further improve the layout of computing infrastructure across the Yangtze River Delta and provide stable and reliable computing support for the continuous growth of regional digital industries.

Located in Xingqiao Street, Linping District, Hangzhou, the project covers a land area of approximately 181,500 square meters and a total construction area of about 259,900 square meters. Its construction scope includes data center buildings, cooling stations, supporting 220kV substations, operation and maintenance centers, and other auxiliary facilities. Throughout the construction process, refined and digitalized quality management has been fully implemented. Digital management technologies have been applied in civil engineering, electromechanical installation and equipment commissioning, enabling the steady delivery of the project in line with standardized construction requirements.
Designed to accommodate 200,000 servers, the project adopts an integrated development model of general-purpose computing and intelligent computing. It supports both traditional cloud service workloads and artificial intelligence computing demands, effectively optimizing the supply structure of high-end intelligent computing resources in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Different from conventional data center solutions, the Linping New Town project incorporates a variety of self-developed domestic technologies and equipment. It deploys Alibaba Cloud’s Feitian Operating System and high-voltage DC power supply systems, forming a well-coordinated computing hub that balances general business processing and AI computing capabilities. By adopting single-phase immersion liquid cooling technology and high-efficiency power distribution systems, the project achieves a PUE of 1.15, delivering sound energy conservation and carbon reduction outcomes under high-density computing operation conditions and offering valuable practical experience for the green transformation of the data center industry.
Upon official commissioning, the data center will provide high-performance computing resources for AI research institutions, technology enterprises and industrial digital transformation projects in the region. It will help lower comprehensive R&D expenditures for AI model training and algorithm iteration, promote the aggregation of digital industry resources, and enrich the digital industrial ecosystem in Hangzhou and the broader Yangtze River Delta area.
Integrating low-carbon technologies, digital construction workflows and domestic independent equipment, the project accumulates systematic practical experience in engineering implementation, equipment selection and operational maintenance. It serves as a practical reference for the construction of large-scale high-standard computing facilities and consolidates the fundamental computing infrastructure for sustained digital economic development.
